YEAH, I'M PUSHY LIKE THAT

Funny how what we know, we insist on pushing on others.

A friend of mine has had a few symptoms over the last year or so, and I've ridden her about going to a doctor, what to ask, what to insist upon, blah blah blah.

Her tests on Monday showed contained thyroid cancer. Her operation for full removal is 6 January. I've never been so happy that I was a pushy bitch in my life.

Word.

Can you tell me what the symptoms would be that might indicate thyroid cancer?

I've had thyroid problems for many years, doc says it's Hashimoto's but I always thought Hashimoto's presented with goiter and I don't have one. I have loads of anti-TPO and loads of anti-thyroglobulin antibodies and have heard that might indicate cancer. It scares me not to know, and doc won't run anymore tests.

Good for you for helping your friend.

she had a rough voice, her hair was falling out, fast weight gain, swollen ankles... a number of signs. she also had a cyst. this really marks something.

have they done an ultrasound on your thyroid? i can't say what the antibodies do, as all of my levels were completely normal on the day of my operation, and i had second stage cancer...

be proactive, find another doctor.

Yes, my darling Pushy Bitch- you have saved my life again...only literally this time! The best advice I can give to others is insist on an ultrasound! Oh- and be your own Pushy Bitch! If your doctor won't listen or take you seriously, find another doctor!
Thanks again my Sister of the Heart!
